Note: This process is available only to Institutional Administrators!
If your institution has a relationship with one of the third-party caption providers that partners with Warpwire, then you can set up a profile so that users can request captions for video or audio assets.
In order to set up a Closed Caption Profile, you'll need the key
and secret
from the caption provider.
If Cielo24 is your caption provider:
If 3Play Media is your caption provider:
If Rev is your caption provider:
If CaptionSync is your caption provider:
Okay! With those prerequisites squared away, let's go to the Warpwire Admin Tool and get started.
To navigate to the Warpwire Admin Tool, open the Account Menu > Admin Tool pane, and click "Closed Captions."
Now, because you haven't set up a closed caption profile, you won't see any caption requests on this page, because no one has been able to make a request yet.
Click "Manage Profiles" in the upper-right of the screen. Then, click "Add Profile" to create a profile.
When you click "Add Profile," you'll be able to give your new profile a name, and optionally designate it as the default profile for requests.
You'll then select which caption provider you wish to use, and input the corresponding key
and secret
for that provider.
Select the quality of caption from the provider's options (from mechanical captioning to professional quality).
And the desired turnaround time.
Click "Save" — now you've created a closed caption profile.
To allow specific Users and/or Groups permission to override the manual Institutional Admin caption request process, simply click on the "Permissions" link to add the desired permissions.
Click either the "Add User" or "Add Group" button to add the user or group permission to this closed caption profile.
A user permission has been successfully added. When this user requests a closed caption for this profile, the submission will be automatically approved.
